MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas men's cross country team competed for the first time in 2015 on Friday evening and the Muleriders came away with a second-place finish among a nine-team field at SAU's home meet, the Lois Davis Invitational.
 
The Muleriders were bested only by NCAA Division I Little Rock as the Trojans placed four runners in the top-10. SAU was not far off that mark as the Muleriders placed three runners in the top-10 and had all five scoring runners place among the top-12.
 
Leading the way for SAU was junior runner Chris Wallace with a time of 26:00. Behind Wallace was junior transfer Doug Palmer who crossed the finish line with a time of 26:21. Next for the Muleriders and logging a top-10 individual finish in his collegiate debut was Lane Alexander as he finished with a time of 26:43. Elijah Reading and Cody Fox rounded out scoring for the Muleriders as the two finished 11th and 12th, respectively. Reading would log a time of 26:54 while Fox was not far behind at 26:58.
 
The Muleriders will now prepare for the Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern on Saturday, September 19.
